This is quiet affordable budget tented camp safari that features the open plains of the Masai Mara, famous for its annual migration of wildebeests and zebras, the waters of Lake Nakuru, home to millions of lesser and greater flamingos and Amboseli National Park, featuring game viewing as well as Mount Kilimanjaro as the backdrop.
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
In the morning after breakfast, you will depart from your hotel/lodge in Nairobi for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, stopping at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley and at Narok town for refueling. You will arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive in the reserve, which is famous for its high concentration of animals, abundance and variety.
Day 2: Full day game drive at Maasai Mara game reserve
You will have an early breakfast before proceeding for a full day of tracking game with your guide across the rich acacia studded grassland and rolling hills of Masai Mara, the most visited park in Kenya. Virtually every type of wildlife is found in the Mara, which has an extensive road and tracking network that allows for excellent photography and viewing opportunities. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool. In the evening you will drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru
Wake-up to a cup of tea or coffee and then embark on your final early morning game drive before returning back to camp for a late breakfast. Shortly afterwards you will depart Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru. Lunches will be provided on the way as we drive via Lake Elementaita and Lake Naivasha. You will arrive at your hotel for an overnight stay in a hotel outside the park.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast in the morning, you will proceed on a game drive in the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park, home of various water birds that breed in the lake’s alkaline waters. Flamingos, white rhino, Rothschild’s giraffe and plains game are some of the species you will encounter while water buck and cape buffalo are common on the lake-shore. You will then depart for Amboseli National Park via Nairobi and Namanga border town.
Day 5: Amboseli Full day game drive
After breakfast you will embark on an early morning, pre-breakfast game drive before returning to the campsite for breakfast. You will then participate in another game drive where plains game including zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and various antelopes can be seen. You will have lunch and a leisure break at the lodge before ending with an evening game drive, looking out for the peak of Kilimanjaro, which can be seen in clear weather from the observation hill. Large herds of elephants and hippos can be seen bathing in the swamp grounds whose water source is Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Day 6: Amboseli to Nairobi
Participate in an early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After a late breakfast you will depart Amboseli for Nairobi, having lunch en route and arriving in the evening. This tour can terminate in Mombasa. If you wish to end at the beach, kindly put in a request. Drop off at your hotel/lodge.
